ಅಕ್ಕಳ ಒಂದು ವಚನದ ಅನುವಾದ:
Translation 1.
What if of wealth a sanyasi you are, my Lord?
From any limb, any source, let nothing be stored.
What if of taste a sanyasi you are, my Lord?
Let not your tongue by any sweet be allured.
What if from woman's form a sanyasi you are, my Lord?
In wake, dream, deepest sleep, let no contact be explored.
What if a sky-clad saint, a Digambari, my Lord?
The mind itself must be laid bare, its true self restored.
This fourfold inner way, this 'holabu' deep and true
If they perceive it not, their ruin they accrue.
In vain they're lost! O see, Chennamallikarjuna,
My only Master, this I show to You!
Translation 2.
What if one is a renunciate of wealth, O Lord?
From whatever limb or source it may come, one must not accept.
What if one is a renunciate of taste, O Lord?
Even at the tongue's tip, sweetness one must not know.
What if one is a renunciate concerning woman (sensual desire), O Lord?
In waking, dream, or deep sleep, no touch (contact) must there be.
What if one is a sky-clad one (Digambari), O Lord?
The mind itself must be naked.
Not knowing the true way (holabu) of these four kinds,
In vain have they perished, behold, O Chennamallikarjuna!
