ತನಗೆ ಮುನಿದವರಿಗೆ ತಾ ಮುನಿಯಲೇಕಯ್ಯಾ
ತನಗಾದ ಆಗೇನು ಅವರಿಗಾದ ಕೇಡೇನು (ಛೇಗೇನು)
ತನುವಿನ ಕೋಪ ತನ್ನ ಹಿರಿಯತನದ ಕೇಡು
ಮನದ ಕೋಪ ತನ್ನರಿವಿನ ಕೇಡು ಕೂಡಲಸಂಗಮದೇವ

Literal Translation to English
The fire within the mind, will it burn the neighbour's house,
Without first burning its own house?
To those who are angry with oneself, why should one get angry, O Sire?
What gain comes to oneself? What harm (or consequence) befalls them?
Anger of the body is the ruin of one's own dignity/stature.
Anger of the mind is the ruin of one's own awareness/knowledge.
O Lord of Kudalasangama!

The fire that in your own mind takes hold,
Will it the neighbour's house enfold
In flames, ere your own turns ashen, cold?
When another's anger aims its dart,
Why, O Sire, let your own fury start?
What gain for you? For them, what aching heart,
What ruinous role, what bitter part?
The body's rage – your dignity it steals,
Your stature crumbles, your honour reels.
The mind's deep wrath – your knowing it conceals,
Your inner wisdom, it repeals.
O Kudalasangama, Lord, to whom my soul appeals!
